Written communication is one example of direct communication. Besides that there are still other examples like oral. To be able to understand each other, people need to do communication and as a social being, human needs to make contact with other people to be able to live.

Nowadays, communication is not just done among people from the same culture and region which usually have the same language but has spread out throughout the globe. People from China are now can make direct communication with people in United States. This intercultural communication is needed because the number of needs of human is also increase and the means of communication has also evolved so that communication in very long range is possible.
